Departmental Lecturer Educational Assessment
The Department of Education is seeking to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in Educational Assessment. The post-holder will contribute to the teaching and supervision of students on the MSc Educational Assessment (MEA) programme offered by the Department of Education and to conduct research on educational assessment. The MEA is an internationally respected, two-year part-time master’s programme devised for professionals working in educational assessment. Additional teaching and supervision will be expected on other programmes offered by the department, particularly the MSc Education (Research Design and Method). The successful applicant may also contribute to other areas of teaching, research, and academic administration of the department.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil or be nearing completion. They will have sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research projects and methodologies. They will also have a developing publication record and familiarity with the existing literature and research in the field, evidence of ability to write research proposals, and experience of quantitative research and analytical techniques. They will have strong interpersonal skills and a track record that demonstrates the ability to work and interact effectively with people in a wide range of different roles. Ideally, they will have teaching and research experience in the Higher Education context.
