Director of Financial Systems
Reporting to the Asst. Vice President for Financial Systems, the Director of Financial Systems is a key member of the Financial Systems team, responsible for managing the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of financial reporting systems, tools and processes. The Director conducts research on new technology trends through their evolution and solutions and works closely with the Information Technology team. This role bridges finance and technology, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability in financial reporting while driving innovation in analytics and automation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage, engage, implement in TEST and work closely on the production planning of new functionality with Information Technology. Manage and engage in the design and rollout of reporting enhancements, dashboards, and analytics to support decision making and compliance. This also includes job scheduling and automation of current manual processes.
- Provide training programs for the Finance team and University community on finance reports, ad hoc queries, Banner Finance, etc. Manage, collaborate and implement in TEST system upgrades, integrations, and issue resolutions working with IT and external vendors including financial institutions, and other Finance 3rd party vendors
- Manage, establish and enforce system controls, user roles, and data integrity standards – responsible for user, rule class and rule group security within the Finance system
- Initiate and drive process innovation by leveraging technology, automation, and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy
Required Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge in use of Excel spreadsheets, database software, finance systems security, finance systems approval workflows, query and reporting tools i.e. Appworx, SQL Developer, Cognos reporting, Ellucian Insights or other similar reporting tools. A minimum of eight years working with Ellucian Banner Finance, Banner Student, Banner Human Resources or other similar financial information systems as well as procure to payment systems i.e. Unimarket, finance document management systems i.e. Xtender, BDMS, etc.

Bachelor’s degree – Field of study: Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Information Technology Management
At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a higher education setting with advanced knowledge of the use of ERP systems including database software, queries and report writing tools.
Salary Range: $106,200-$129,800
Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt
