Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Grant Strategy & Development
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive grants strategy focused on operational, capital, and programmatic support.
- Research, identify, and qualify federal, state, local, and private grant opportunities aligned with institutional goals.
- Coordinate and write competitive proposals, including multi-year and six-figure submissions.
- Manage timelines, budgets, and compliance requirements for grant applications in coordination with the Finance Office.
- Oversee reporting and renewal processes for existing grants, ensuring high-quality stewardship.
Government Relations & Public Partnerships
- Serve as the primary liaison to public sector partners, including state and federal agencies.
- Cultivate and maintain productive working relationships with grantors, elected officials, and government agencies.
- Monitor legislative and funding developments relevant to higher education.
Institutional Collaboration
- Assist faculty, academic leadership, and administrative departments and support grant concepts that achieve strategic priorities.
- Support grant compliance processes and reporting in coordination with finance and sponsored programs.
- Create and refine workflows, tools, and templates to streamline the grant application and management process.
The estimated salary range is $64,000 to $68,000 per year for 40 hours per week for 52 weeks.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive grant development experience, including a proven track record of securing six-figure awards.
- Demonstrated experience with state and federal grant applications and compliance processes.
- Strong writing, project management, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Previous experience in higher education.
- Knowledge and experience with government relations, legislative processes, and public funding mechanisms.
- Experience managing multiple complex grant projects simultaneously.
Skills & Competencies
- Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to align funding opportunities with institutional mission.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively across diverse teams and build internal partnerships.
- Knowledge of grants management systems and federal reporting platforms (e.g., Grants.gov, SAM.gov)
