We are seeking a candidate to lead the overall health, performance, and ongoing development of Penn's enterprise Workday Human Capital Management platform. This role provides strategic leadership across Workday HCM modules, drives operational excellence through effective resource planning, and oversees the management of a complex ERP system requiring deep subject-matter expertise. The position ensures reliable service delivery and alignment with the institution's strategic priorities.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Oversees the management of IT staff, budget, and infrastructure to ensure efficient and effective day-to-day operations for the Workday Operations service.
- Manage risk, facilitate decision-making, and provide oversight for issue resolution and product evolution associated with the Workday enterprise system.
- Directs and ensures inventory accuracy and records of any assets related to the Workday Operation and any other applicable products and services.
- Continually confirms Workday road map aligns with the institution's priorities and business needs.
- Oversees operations and planning, installation, testing and maintenance of Workday products/ services and/or serve as a Program Manager for one or more complex projects or programs.
- Oversight and influence include business and systems analysis, configuration, integration, and other related system life cycle activities.
- Program Management incorporates appropriate project management practice such as needs analyses and utilization of appropriate measurement tools for effective delivery of project deliverable.
- Staff Management: Responsible for the management of staff in developing innovative solutions. This responsibility includes supporting the organization's administrative functions, such as setting goals with staff, encouraging professional development, resource planning, and fostering a hybrid work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration and accountability.
- Lead and direct the strategic planning, evaluation, and integration of future enterprise systems, data analytics and related ongoing activities.
- May include additional responsibilities for research, evaluation, and implementation of new technology, process improvements, capacity planning, and technical support.
- May also include influencing activities related to the systems development life cycle and overall IT technologies.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- At least 5+ years of progressive experience supporting mid-to-large enterprise ERP systems (5,000+ employees), with hands-on Workday experience with Workday ERP
- At least 5+ years of people management experience, including managing resources and senior individual contributors
- Experience with Workday configuration, security, business process frameworks, reporting and integrations
- Strong understanding of Workday release management (biannual releases), regression testing, and change control
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, and external partners
- Strong collaboration and ability to partner effectively with HR, Payroll, and IT leaders to prioritize enhancements and resolve issues
Preferred:
- Experience with Human Capital Management Workday ERP
- Working knowledge of at least two HCM functional areas
- Experience improving operational processes, documentation, and knowledge management
- Workday certification in at least one functional or technical area
