Director Procedural Supply Chain

The Director of Procedural Supply Chain is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of supply chain operations related to procedural and clinical materials within a healthcare environment. This includes procurement, planning, inventory, distribution, and transportation. This role ensures that critical medical and surgical supplies are available to support patient care, while optimizing cost, efficiency, and compliance. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Supply Chain Operations.

  • Lead a permanent department overseeing procurement, planning, and logistics for procedural supplies across all business segments
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that ensure availability of all necessary procedural supplies while optimizing cost and service levels.
  • Oversee demand forecasting, inventory control, and production planning to support surgical and procedural schedules.
  • Set strategy for inventory and distribution operations to ensure timely and compliant delivery to clinical areas.
  • Collaborate with clinical, surgical, and administrative teams to align supply chain operations with patient care needs.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain effectiveness, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure ERP system data integrity by establishing and enforcing standards for item master data, inventory accuracy, and transactional compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance, reduce waste, and support sustainability goals.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
  • Lead budgeting, cost control, and resource planning for the procedural supply chain function.
  • Perform full-cycle people management including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Make or influence decisions regarding promotions, compensation, and staffing with significant organizational impact.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in healthcare, supply chain or logistics operations.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role within a hospital, health system, medical supply or supply chain organization.
  • Strong understanding of procedural supply needs in surgical, interventional, and clinical settings.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex supply chain networks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CMRP, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma).
  • Experience with ERP systems and healthcare inventory management platforms (e.g., Lawson, Oracle, SAP, or GHX).
  • Familiarity with value analysis processes and clinical product standardization.
