The Radiography Program Director in collaboration with the Dean of Health Sciences provides the vision and leadership required to realize the mission of the Radiography Program and the college at large. Primary administrative responsibilities include program development/management, budget development/management, maintaining programmatic accreditation/external partnerships, and providing operational supervision to full- and part-time faculty and staff in the department. Instructional responsibilities require a strong Radiography skill set and the ability to teach students effectively in an instructional environment. The Program Director is a member of the full-time faculty and maintains a teaching load with some administrative release time to carry out administrative duties.

Education Required

  • Master’s degree in Radiography or health-related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Graduate of a Radiography program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology ( JRCERT )
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ( ARRT ) Credential.

Education Preferred

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Radiography from an accredited institution.
  • Additional Specialty Credentials (i.e. Mammography, C.T., MRI, etc.)

Experience Required

  • 3 years of clinical experience in radiography
  • 2 years of teaching experience in a JRCERT accredited radiography program
  • Experience with radiography JRCERT accreditation standards and procedures
  • Experience with direct employee supervision and management, including evaluation
  • Proficiency in curriculum design, program administration, evaluation, instruction, Student Learning Outcomes (SLO’s) and academic advising

Experience Preferred

  • Greater than 3 years of full-time clinical experience in radiography.
  • Greater than 2 years of teaching experience in a JRCERT accredited radiography program
  • Experience with distance learning and/or alternative instructional delivery systems.
  • Community college teaching and/or administrative experience.

KSA Required

The Radiography Program Director shall possess an understanding of and commitment to the nature and role of the Community College, particularly its “open door” policy. He/she shall have demonstrated personal and professional competence for the responsibilities assigned. The Program Director will have an understanding of the concept of a learning-centered, open admissions institution, community college philosophy, diversity issues, and instructional technology. The Program Director must be able to:

Department/Job Specific Requirements

  • Responsibilities may include overnight travel in and outside of the state, in support of college programs and initiatives
