The University of Oxford is seeking a Finance Officer to support both divisional financial operations and the management of funded doctoral training grants.
Location: 6 Worcester Street, Oxford with the option of some hybrid/remote working
Salary £35,681 - £41,636 per annum

About the Role
This role is split evenly between:
• supporting the Social Sciences Divisional Office with day-to-day financial management, and
• providing financial administration and reporting for UKRI Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) grants, including the ESRC-funded Grand Union DTP.
• Manage day-to-day financial operations including purchasing, expenses, invoicing, credit card reconciliation, and month-end processes
• Ensure compliance with University policies and regulations via monthly dashboards review
• Produce financial reports and management information for internal and external stakeholders
• Administer UKRI training grants, including student stipend payments and fee reconciliations
• Support budget setting, year-end processes, and longer-term financial planning
• Provide clear financial advice to non-finance colleagues and maintain strong working relationships across the University and partner institutions
About You
• AAT or similar qualification, or substantial relevant finance experience
• Strong numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Experience of financial administration and reporting, ideally in a complex organisation
• Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills, including building models from scratch
• Communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial colleagues
• Ability to manage a varied workload independently and meet deadlines
