Divisions of Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant - HS Clinical Faculty

The Divisions of Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals are recruiting for faculty positions at the ranks of Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical faculty series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

UCSF is a national leader in pediatric care, offering comprehensive, cutting-edge care and impactful research in these subspecialties.

A primary responsibility for these positions is to serve as nighttime attendings, providing front-line coverage for patient concerns and admissions. Night shifts, including some weekends on a rotating basis, will have on-call support from Hematology-Oncology/BMT fellows and attending physicians. Common acute issues include transfusion needs, sepsis, anaphylaxis, and pain management. Faculty will be fully integrated into the inpatient teams, working alongside advanced practice providers (APPs), fellows, and attending physicians. Additionally, there will be opportunities to perform procedures (e.g., lumbar punctures, bone marrow aspirates/biopsies) and contribute to daytime care on a rotating basis.

For candidates interested in research, quality improvement, or other scholarly projects, UCSF offers numerous resources and mentorship opportunities. In addition to night shifts, faculty will contribute to daytime inpatient rounding teams, which include interdisciplinary collaboration with nurses, case managers, dietitians, pharmacists, NPs, residents, students, fellows, and attendings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Medical degree and license
  • Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics
  • A strong interest in academic pediatrics and clinical education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board eligibility or certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
  • Proven abilities in collaborative teamwork
  • Experience in supervising residents and medical students in clinical settings
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage across diverse forums

For positions that are 51% effort or more: The minimum base salary range for this position is $110,500-$333,700. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. For positions that are 50% effort or less: A reasonable estimate for this position is $78,900-$238,300.

Interested candidates can apply online at https://aprecruit.ucsf.edu/JPF05658 with a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and contact information for 3 references.
