Job Description
The Donor Relations Coordinator supports the execution of Idaho State University Foundation's donor stewardship and recognition program. The stewardship strategy will include events, programs, and systems for annual, major, and principal gift donors. The successful candidate will support processes that reflect donor intent and support a consistent donor experience that fosters a culture of appreciation, recognition, transparency, and engagement with donors. The coordinator will collaborate with development directors and central advancement staff to acknowledge donors at all levels. This position will also help oversee endowment reporting, annual giving summaries, scholarship stewardship, and donor communication, while providing customer service and identifying practical improvements that support consistent donor relations work. This position reports to the Director of Donor Relations and is a university employee on loan to the ISU Foundation.
This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Stewardship Reporting and Donor Acknowledgment - 30%
- Coordinate preparation and distribution of stewardship reports for endowment funds and other donor-supported programs.
- Draft donor acknowledgement communications and, when appropriate, customized correspondence.
- Maintain stewardship tracking so donor commitments are completed and documented.
- Support implementation of stewardship plans connected to annual, major, and principal gifts.
Scholarship Stewardship Coordination - 20%
- Prepare donor updates that illustrate the impact of scholarship support.
- Coordinate scholarship stewardship activity with the Office of Scholarships and campus partners.
- Facilitate student acknowledgment letters connected to donor-funded scholarships.
Donor Recognition and Engagement Events - 20%
- Support planning of engagement opportunities that highlight the impact of philanthropy.
- Track participation and assist with follow-up communication.
- Coordinate logistics for donor stewardship events and recognition activities, including The Gem Legacy.
Stewardship Tracking and Donor Data - 15%
- Work with Foundation Data and Research to maintain accurate donor records connected to stewardship.
- Prepare reports that support stewardship planning and donor communication.
Program Improvement and Administration - 15%
- Recommend adjustments that improve the consistency of donor reporting and recognition.
- Assist the Director of Donor Relations in implementing operational improvements.
- Assist with budget tracking related to donor stewardship and recognition initiatives.
- Provide operational support for donor relations projects within University Advancement.
- Complete additional duties that support ISU Foundation and Advancement operations and programming.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- At least two (2) years of experience supporting donor stewardship activity, fundraising programs, donor communications, or constituent relationship management in a mission-driven organization.
- Strong written communication skills appropriate for donor-facing materials.
- Strong organizational ability and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor database systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education advancement or nonprofit fundraising.
- Familiarity with donor databases such as Blackbaud Raiser's Edge.
- Experience supporting stewardship reporting or donor acknowledgement processes.
- Understanding of donor relations practices within a fundraising environment.
Additional Information

Salary will be between $52,000 and $57,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
