Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Biology department on the Gainesville campus. Student worker needed to assist with biology/ecology courses, ecology field-based research projects, and UNG Earth Day event planning on the Gainesville campus.
Responsibilities
- Learning about ecological field techniques, conducting ecology field-based research on the Gainesville campus, attending regular meetings where we discuss the research and related scientific literature, and assisting with planning and preparation for the UNG annual Signature Event, Earth Day.
- Opportunities also exist for the student worker to assist with lab sections of biology courses as well as for presenting the results of our research efforts at local and regional scientific conferences as well as outreach and educational events.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred candidate will have successfully completed BIOL 1108K or have completed introductory GIS classes.
