Position Specifics
Penn State Conferences and Institutes, a department within Penn State Outreach, is seeking an Education Program Specialist to lead the coordination of educational programs that serve youth, undergraduate students, and professionals. The ideal Education Program Specialist is an extremely organized, task-oriented individual who can work with subject matter experts to develop and deliver conferences and summer youth programs, as well as credit programs that have an off-site learning component. While working as part of a team, Education Program Specialists oversee a portfolio of 15-20 programs annually.
The Education Program Specialist is the hub of the wheel as they coordinate program development, budgeting, marketing, registration, speakers, logistics, contracts, compliance, on-site management, and evaluation for each program, with each program having its own unique objectives and needs.
Minimum Education, Work Experience & Required Certifications
Bachelor's Degree
3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills in managing conferences, camps, events, or complex projects from conception to execution. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, excellent communication skills, budgeting experience, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and organization are critical to the Education Program Specialist's success. Collaboration and communication is the foundation of our unit, and the successful candidate will work closely with other Education Program Specialists and program coordinators in the office, as well as with program committees and other campus units.
Education Program Specialists work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of two days in the office at University Park each week (Tuesday and Wednesday). Additional on-site work, at University Park or other program locations, is required during preparation for and delivery of programs. This position requires a flexible schedule during conference delivery and will include occasional weekend and evening work.

Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $56,200.00 - $81,500.00.
