eLearning Multimedia Designer

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Instructional Designer, the eLearning Multimedia Designer is responsible for designing and developing multimedia-based learning objects of the highest quality for eLearning courses that reflect best practices in accessibility and instructional design.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Performance Requirements

  • Designs, develops, and refines animations, multimedia and video content involving recording and editing video and sound projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing and importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music, voice-over, sound effects, media management, and archiving project media for eLearning courses
  • Collaborates with faculty and Tarrant County College (TCC) Connect instructional designers on creating images, multimedia, animations, and video projects
  • Assists and advises TCC Connect faculty, staff, and administration with live streaming including software and camera operation
  • Ensures all developed content meets accessibility requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Develops and implements strategies for the rapid creation of high-quality multimedia learning objects
  • Provides the TCC Connect Senior Instructional Designer with regular updates on all content development projects
  • Service Excellence
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
  • Supervision
  • Works under the general supervision of the Senior Instructional Designer

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Three (3) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree

At least one (1) year's working experience in project management

At least one (1) year's working experience integrating multimedia content within Canvas

At least one (1) year's working experience with Kaltura or Kaltura Video Portal

Current Adobe Content Creator Professional Certification, Adobe Certified Associate, or Digital Video Engineering Professional Certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of media copyright laws including the Teach Act

Skilled with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere CC, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Audition) and Media Encoder

Skilled using learning management systems

Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships

Skilled in oral, electronic, and written communications

Skilled using computerized applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
