"Engagement Manager"

This is an exciting new role based at Oxford University Science Park, Begbroke focused on supporting our entrepreneurial community. You will be engaging with the University of Oxford’s research, innovation and enterprise initiatives, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and demonstrating the real-world impact that our tenants make. This is a wide-ranging role for someone with an understanding of and empathy with ‘deep-tech’ and the needs of and opportunities for a diverse and thriving spin-out and start-up community.

An important part of this position will be the liaison and networking with University and Divisional stakeholders, senior academics and researchers, to bring together the University’s knowledge, capabilities, facilities or equipment, wherever they might be located. You must have a track record of successfully managing complex working relationships with senior colleagues in the HEI sector or in an equivalent or related large organisation.

Thanks to your knowledge, experience and contacts, you will also be key to growing our translation, incubation and acceleration services and to promoting the opportunities and benefits of Begbroke’s support for Oxford researchers and innovators. By supporting existing tenants and showcasing the impact of our community, you will help position Begbroke as the location of choice for early-stage, growing and ambitious entrepreneurs and raise the science park’s profile within the University, the wider ecosystem and Oxford’s innovation landscape.

You will possess an excellent understanding of the challenges facing spin-outs and start-ups, and of the opportunities to support companies as they grow. You will have experience of curating events, training or business support particularly in an innovative environment. Attention to detail and the ability to communicate to a wide range of stakeholders and tailor messages accordingly is essential. A broad and enquiring interest in deep-tech science and spin out activity would be an advantage.

This is a fixed-term post for 2 years. The post is full-time with flexible working available.

Pay Scale: STANDARD GRADE 8

Salary: £49119 - 58265 with a discretionary range to £63,489 per annum
