Position Description
Ohlone College is seeking qualified applicants for temporary part-time teaching assignments, which may include day, evening, weekend, in-person, online, or hybrid courses. Applications are accepted year-round and remain in the pool for two years.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach English as a Second Language according to established course outlines.
- Evaluate student work and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate records such as grades, syllabi, and attendance reports.
- Create an equity-based and welcoming classroom environment.
- Perform duties as per Board policy, faculty contract, and Faculty Handbook at designated locations.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's in TESL, TESOL, applied linguistics with TESL emphasis, linguistics with TESL emphasis, English with TESL emphasis, or education with TESL emphasis; OR Bachelor's in TESL, TESOL, English with TESL certificate, etc., plus Master's in related fields; OR equivalent. Must demonstrate commitment to equity, anti-racism, and serving diverse students. - Teaching experience at the community college level.

- Creating equitable and inclusive classroom materials.
- Addressing equity issues and supporting minoritized students.
- Experience with computer technology and course management systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
