Position Description
Seeking qualified applicants for temporary part-time teaching assignments, possibly day, evening, weekend, in-person, online, or hybrid. Applications accepted year-round and remain in pool for two years.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach English as a Second Language per established course outlines.
- Evaluate student work with clear criteria and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain and submit accurate records like grades and attendance.
- Create an equity-based and welcoming classroom environment.
- Perform duties as per Board policy, faculty contract, and Handbook at various locations.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's in TESL, TESOL, applied linguistics with TESL emphasis, linguistics with TESL emphasis, English with TESL emphasis, or education with TESL emphasis; OR Bachelor's in TESL, TESOL, English with TESL certificate, etc., AND Master's in related fields; OR equivalent. Commitment to equity, anti-racism, and serving diverse students.
Desirable Qualifications
- Teaching experience at community college level.
- Use of innovative teaching methods for engagement.
- Creating equitable and inclusive classroom materials.
- Experience addressing equity issues and working with minoritized students.
- Use of computer technology and course management systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
