Job Duties
Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year, residential, liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities. The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities region-and its rural setting featuring 750+ acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state's oldest and largest pecan grove.
Richard Bland College is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Enrollment Counselor to attract, recruit, and enroll a diverse and talented pool of prospective students who align with our mission and values. As a key representative of the college, the Enrollment Counselor will guide prospective students and their families through the admissions process, highlighting academic programs, campus life, and student services. The Enrollment Counselor will be the primary contact for students from initial inquiry to enrollment, fostering relationships and delivering exceptional customer service. This position plays a critical role in helping the college achieve its enrollment goals and ensure a high-quality, student focused admissions experience.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Identify and recruit prospective students through various methods such as college fairs, high school visits, and individual meetings.
- Identify and establish relationships with key school counselors and educational partners in the designated territory.
- Maintain consistent communication with school counselors, prospective students, and their families through various channels (email, phone, social media).
- Build relationships with prospective students and families to assist them through the enrollment process.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to reach targeted enrollment goals.
- Conduct campus tours and presentations to prospective students and families.
- Collaborate with other departments such as Financial Aid and Student Services to ensure a positive enrollment experience for prospective students.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date recruitment activities records and maintain a prospective student database.
- Track and analyze performance metrics, provide regular reports to management and make data-driven recommendations for strategy improvement.
- Attend professional development workshops and conferences to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
- Provides pre-admission counseling for prospective high school students and families.
- Reviews student application materials to determine application status.
- Assists with the planning process and facilitates college activities, such as on campus recruitment events, orientation and registration activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated knowledge, competence experience in sales, higher education admissions and/or enrollment management.
- Customer service experience
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel and work nights and weekends as necessary.
