ENT Surgical Pathologist

Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is recruiting for an academic surgical pathologist with expertise in ENT and endocrine (specifically thyroid) pathology. The successful candidate will have additional opportunities in genitourinary or other areas of surgical pathology depending on skills and interest. The laboratory processes greater than 60,000 surgical specimens per year. In addition, the appointee will be given the opportunity to work closely with multi-specialty UW Comprehensive Cancer Center groups on collaborative clinical and translational research projects and to teach a variety of learners. The University of Wisconsin Medical Center is a tertiary care center with comprehensive programs in cancer and transplantation, and with an actively funded SPORE program in head and neck cancer.

  • This position is full or part time, 80%-100%
  • This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
  • Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles; Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate and Clinical Professor. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.
  • This vacancy is being announced simultaneously with JR#10000786; please note that only one total vacancy exist. Having two job postings allows the School of Medicine and Public Health to consider candidates on both the CHS and CT tracks.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • The academic ENT Pathologist will sign out ENT and endocrine (thyroid) pathology cases and contribute to our teaching mission.
