The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking an EOP Residential Mentor in our Opportunity Program Department. The EOP Residential Mentor promotes a culture of student engagement and success to the EOP students. The program mentor will reside in the residence halls to assist in building community as students become acclimated to the College's academic, social, and cultural environment.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Provides intentional mentor to MVCC EOP students;
- Collaborates, creates, leads, or assists with teambuilding and recreational activities;
- Performs desk duty and rounds of the assigned suite each night;
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of resident interactions, incidents, and progress towards goals;
- Implements residential policies and procedures while promoting a sense of community and mutual respect among residents;
- Identifies and addresses any potential safety concerns or risks within the residential environment;
- Performs other duties related to the job description as assigned by the Director of EOP.
Work Schedule: This is a live-in summer position during the duration of the Summer Program (July 13, 2026 - August 20, 2026)
Hours per week: up to 29 hours per week; schedule will vary based on program need and will include daytime program support, evening activities, and rotating weekend/on-call responsibilities
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Must be an MVCC graduate, current, or continuing student or completed a minimum of 60 college credits
- Available the entire summer appointment (July 13, 2026 - August 20, 2026) and have the ability to assist the EOP program staff with summer housing needs, evening activities led by Student Engagement, closing recognition ceremony, major check-ins and check-outs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current or previous Resident Assistant experience
Additional Information:
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. If you currently need sponsorship or will need it in the future to maintain employment authorization, you do not meet eligibility requirements.
