Department Summary
The University of Oregon School of Law is a dynamic, ABA-accredited law school and Oregon's only public law school. Position Summary
The Executive Assistant to the Dean provides professional, confidential, daily support for the Dean of the School of Law and manages the operations of the Office of the Dean. The position requires excellent communication and leadership skills and an ability and desire to establish and maintain productive, collaborative relationships with students, law faculty and staff, and University of Oregon colleagues.
This position must be able to work occasional nights and/or weekends to fulfill special projects and events.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree OR equivalent combination of skills, experience, education, and training.
- Two years' experience providing confidential executive support that includes experience managing a calendar for an executive-level position.
- Two years' of office and project management experience of increasing responsibility, to include serving as team lead on projects.

- Ability to effectively organize, manage administrative tasks, provide customer service, and leadership.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to write on behalf of the Dean.
- Ability to work effectively and utilize a range of communication channels with diverse groups of students, faculty, administrators, staff, and members of the bench and bar from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Ability to manage stressful situations with tact and diplomacy and to use sound judgment at all times.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in handling correspondence, travel and calendaring for an executive or Dean in a higher education setting
- Knowledge of public relations, fundraising, and University of Oregon programs.
