Remuneration: $111,341 to $120,557 pa (HEW6) (inclusive of $94,084 to $101,872 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Location: Gardens Point (hybrid option available)

Open to: Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islander people. For this position it is a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person as permitted by and arguable under sections 25, 104 and 105 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act (1991).

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Executive Assistant, Carumba Institute to join Carumba Institute, Education Portfolio, Academic Division

The Executive Assistant provides high-level secretarial and administrative support to the Executive Director, Carumba Institute. The principal duties of this position include the management of the Executive Director’s diary and daily schedule, preparing and coordinating communications, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

What you need to succeed

  • Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of a degree with combined relevant experience, or extensive experience in an Executive Assistant capacity.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to connect and collaborate with a diverse range of people at all levels in a professional manner, often under pressure, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
  • Advanced written communication skills including the ability to draft complex correspondence, submissions, reports, emails, meeting agendas and minutes with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, including Elders, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong effective working relationships within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
  • Highly developed digital literacy skills including experience using Microsoft Office, electronic records management systems and databases.
  • Highly developed planning skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritise, coordinate workflow and meet deadlines with excellent attention to detail.
