Executive Director, Advanced Practice Providers - Nursing Administration - FT, Days
Position Summary
The Executive Director, Advanced Practice Providers provides system-level administration, direction, coordination, and evaluation of the operational, financial, and human resource functions and activities for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across the enterprise. This role functions with a high degree of autonomy. This role is responsible for the vision, short- and long-term strategy, direction, and performance of various domains, including administration and leadership, workforce planning and management, scope of practice, regulatory oversight, clinical practice, professional performance, and development/training programs. Additionally, the Executive Director oversees and directs through subordinate managers, the administration, programs, and strategic initiatives of the organization relating to Advanced Practice, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications
- Ten+ years as an APP in a variety of clinical settings: inclusive of acute and ambulatory areas.
- Subject matter expert in APP regulations, scope of practice, and industry best practices.
- Strong leadership skills to guide and influence collaborative teamwork and organizational change.
- Strong business acumen in corporate finance, strategic planning, and organizational development.
- State of California licensure as a NP, CRNA, or PA.
- Relevant current board certification (ANCC, CPPPA, PNCB, NCC).
- Proven leadership and ability to impact change in a complex health care system.
- Proven experience as a executive director or a minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience within a tertiary/quaternary academic medical system.
- Proficient in healthcare information systems and data analysis.
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
- Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and experience in driving operational and patient care outcomes.
- Experience leading and supporting organizational change management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and provide effective leadership with a positive focus that will enhance the nursing services of the Division, providing optimal patient-oriented health care in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to apply sound judgment to a variety of situations.
- Ability to oversee project initiatives related to APP professional integration and improvement.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a UC and/or union environment.
Licenses and Certifications
- NP, as applicable.
- Registered Nurse.
- PA, as applicable.
- CRNA, as applicable.
