Superintendent/President at Cabrillo College
Cabrillo College is seeking a Superintendent/President who serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Secretary to the Governing Board, serves as the leader of the District, and as its primary spokesperson. The position is initiatory and executory, acting as a professional advisor to the Board in policy formulation and as executor of adopted policies.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary, benefits, length of contract, and other terms are competitive and negotiable. Educational administrators join the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) and contribute 10.25% of their monthly salary. Cabrillo College provides a generous benefit stipend for medical, dental, life, and disability insurance.

Examples of Duties
- Serves as leader and spokesperson; provides leadership to ensure a high-performance environment.
- Develops and recommends policies; directs budget development.
- Maintains knowledge of laws and trends; participates in hiring and evaluation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge and abilities, typically including a Master's degree and five years of progressive administrative experience.
Desirable Qualifications
Includes a Doctorate degree, experience in community college administration, and demonstrated leadership in various areas.
Knowledge of
- Laws and regulations governing community colleges.
- Planning, evaluation, and management practices.
Ability to
- Administer and evaluate college facets; interpret and enforce regulations.
- Provide leadership and make presentations.
