Job Duties
- Intake
- Meet with assigned complainants and respondents to discuss and provide information regarding applicable university processes, available resources, interim measures, reporting, and resolution options.
- Investigations
- Conduct prompt, equitable, and impartial investigations into complaints, including identifying and interviewing involved parties and witnesses, gathering and assessing information relevant to the investigation, and applying relevant policies and procedures to determine the most appropriate course of action.
- Ensure timely resolutions of assigned cases.
- Training, Education, and Outreach
- Assist with the development of training and outreach programs.
- Provide training to students, faculty, and staff on issues related to discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, and ADA.
- Serve as a point of contact by providing subject-matter expertise on requirements of and compliance with Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, ADA, ADEA, VAWA, Campus SaVE, NSU polices, and related federal and state laws.
- Case Management
- Maintain detailed records of reports and assigned cases utilizing a case management system.
- Additional Duties
- Facilitate interactive process for employees seeking ADA and religious accommodations.
- Facilitate interactive processes for students seeking religious and pregnancy-based accommodations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to conduct prompt and thorough investigations under relevant campus policies and serve as an independent, neutral fact-finder.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, problem-solve, exercise independent judgment, and work with a diverse community.
- Strong effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen with intentionality and demonstrate sensitivity to individuals in a neutral and objective manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional, productive working relationships with campus partners.
- Excellent organization and detail-oriented skills.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple, complex matters with competing priorities.
- Demonstration of a commitment of a sensitivity to the removal of barriers to equity and success to promote an inclusive campus environment.
Additional Considerations
- Juris Doctor or other terminal degree.
- Experience with Title IX or other administrative investigations.
- Knowledge and understanding of university governance and operations.
- Demonstrated experience with developing outreach and training programs.
- Ability to work with ADA compliance, including determining disability-based accommodations.
