Job Summary:
This position will lead and oversee facilitation operations for psychedelic-assisted clinical trials, ensuring high-quality, protocol-adherent participant support across preparation, dosing, and integration sessions. The role is responsible for upholding facilitation standards, training and mentoring facilitators and study staff, and providing day-to-day leadership for facilitation activities.
This position will contribute to continuous improvement of facilitation workflows, operating procedures, and session environments; support participant safety and data integrity through fidelity monitoring and quality oversight; and serve as a liaison between the facilitation team and study leadership. In addition, this role includes supervisory responsibilities, operational coordination, and active participation in protocol-defined research activities, assessments, and documentation.

- This position is full or part-time, 50%-100%
- This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
- This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Trains individuals and groups on equipment operations, research protocols, and techniques within a specialized laboratory or research area
- Provides operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit or program staff and student workers
- Collects and analyzes complex research data, conducts experiments and interviews, and documents results according to established policies and procedures
- Oversees facilitation quality and conduct fidelity, provides clinical feedback and coaching, leads consultation to maintain continuity and study integrity, supports facilitator development, and completes essential supervisory duties (e.g., timesheets, evaluations, HR coordination).
- Serves as a liaison between the facilitation team and lab leadership, communicating needs and updates, identifying workflow or participant-experience concerns, and recommending improvements related to safety and operations.

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is committed to basic and clinical research that furthers the understanding and development of new treatments for patients with mental illness, training the next generation of leaders, and providing excellent patient care to a broad range of patients.
Compensation:
The starting salary for the position is $100,000; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have at least two years of experience in facilitation in a psychedelics research setting, including a thorough understanding of GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and HSP (Human Subjects Protection).
- Must be a licensed mental health care provider with professional training and clinical experience. Acceptable professional credentials are limited to the following: clinical or counseling psychologist (PhD or PsyD), Master of Social Work (MSW), masters Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), and MFT (Marriage and Family Therapist).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal training in psychedelic-assisted therapies through recognized programs (e.g., MAPS, Fluence, CIIS, AWE, Naropa, PRATI, or comparable).
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing facilitator training programs, mentoring facilitators, and contributing to facilitation manuals, SOPs/MOPs, or other study documentation in regulated research environments.
- Prior experience serving in a facilitation leadership, supervisory, or therapeutic specialist role within investigator-initiated or industry-sponsored psychedelic clinical trials.
- Experience supporting protocol adherence, participant safety monitoring, fidelity assessment, and quality oversight activities.
Education:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), or PhD, PsyD in Counseling Psychology or related field required.
