Faculty - Ag Business (174 Day)
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Agricultural Sciences and Hospitality Arts Department seeks to hire a full-time faculty with a required course load of 15 credit hours per semester (total of 30 credit hours). Faculty are responsible for fostering student learning in one or more of the following areas:
- Agricultural Business
- Agricultural Science
Faculty instructional practice is expected to adhere to Kirkwood's Quality Instruction Indicators. Teaching schedules are assigned by the dean and may span multiple campus locations and include a variety of delivery formats, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid. Faculty may be assigned to teach in the evenings or on weekends.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, faculty are required to dedicate a portion of their overall workload to a combination of service to the college and professional development that advances discipline-specific expertise and/or pedagogical practice. Faculty must meet all goals and expectations outlined in their Professional Preparation Plan per the college's Quality Faculty Plan.

Duties
- Design, organize, prepare, and teach assigned courses across varied modalities, schedules, and college locations in accordance with established syllabi.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Utilize the Kirkwood Learning Management System for course materials, syllabi, gradebook management, and related instructional functions.
- Maintain required office hours and provide student support as needed.
- Participate in curriculum development, revision, and assessment at the course, program, department, and college levels.
- Participate in departmental instructional tasks and projects, including assisting with Program Annual Review.
- Support program recruitment and marketing activities.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with K-12 partners, transfer institutions, community partners, and/or industry partners.
- Engage in professional development activities, build expertise in instructional areas, and stay informed about emerging trends and evidence-based practices.
- Meet all service obligations and contribute to department, division, and college initiatives and priorities.
- Respond promptly to college communications and complete all required compliance trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
