Mount Aloysius College, repeatedly recognized by ModernThink as a "Great College to Work For," invites applications for a highly qualified Statistician to join our interdisciplinary Science and Mathematics Department at the start of the Fall 2026 semester, with the possibility of a January 2026 start date.

Current Opening

This open faculty position offers a regular, full-time, 9-month appointment, with primary teaching obligations during the core academic year from August – May. The successful candidate is responsible for a workload of 24 credit hours or equivalent per academic year, and will teach undergraduate courses in the Mathematics and General Education curricula, covering quantitative literacy, algebra, calculus, and statistics (introductory and research), and various seminars within the Biology major. This position is also responsible for coordinating the math general education curriculum and its assessments.

The Science and Mathematics Department at Mount Aloysius College is composed of eight faculty members who cover the disciplines of statistics, mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics.

Faculty are expected to have a regular presence on campus to engage with students both inside and outside the classroom. Therefore, this position is required to be onsite 5 days per week; and to participate in meetings/committee work, advise students academically, hold regular office hours, and assist with Departmental initiatives, College events and other activities.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Statistics, Applied Statistics, or closely related field required. Doctorate (Ph.D.) preferred. Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience teaching statistics and related courses at the collegiate level strongly preferred. This position requires an innovative educator and scholar with strong subject expertise in statistics, demonstrated experience in applied statistical methods, and a passion for integrating statistical knowledge with real-world, liberal arts contexts. The ideal candidate is committed to applying active learning strategies in the classroom, participating in curriculum development, and utilizing online/hybrid teaching modalities.

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time; all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of their application.
