Faculty Opportunity: Inpatient Psychiatry

The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, is seeking qualified psychiatrists with an academic interest for openings in our inpatient psychiatric unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center – Midtown campus. Candidates should have enthusiasm for inpatient care and enjoy working on a multidisciplinary team!

We have a robust division with 6 faculty physicians who provide inpatient care for up to 37 inpatients in total, with reasonable team caps of 8-12 patients per day. Faculty rotate through teaching teams with residents and cover ED consults on a rotating schedule. Part-time and full-time options are available. Positions carry faculty appointments at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and offer exciting opportunities for clinical care, teaching and research. A departmental mentoring program is available to all new faculty. Candidates must be ABPN certified or eligible. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience.

Salary range for part-time 50% FTE: $110,000-$120,000

Salary range for full-time 100% FTE: $220,000-$240,000.

Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience and qualifications

The referenced salary range reflects base pay for Assistant Professor which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Department faculty compensation program or pay from participation in department variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
