Brite Divinity School, affiliated with Texas Christian University, invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track or tenure position in Hebrew Bible. Level of appointment for the position is at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The Ph.D. or equivalent is required. Teaching experience preferred. The appointment will commence on August 1, 2026. Demonstrated competence in teaching, scholarly research, and writing is expected. Teaching load is four courses per year at Masters (including introductory levels) and Doctoral levels. Area of specialization is open. Teaching competencies required include the ability to engage texts critically and theologically employing a variety of interdisciplinary and hermeneutical approaches, such as (but not limited to) gender and sexuality studies, womanist, feminist, queer, postcolonial, postmodern, and racial/cultural studies. Commitment to mentoring students, especially in PhD programs, is expected. Brite Divinity School is a premier progressive institution in graduate theological education. Located on the campus of Texas Christian University (TCU), in Fort Worth, a growing city of one million people located in the nation’s fourth largest metropolitan area, TCU provides Brite with an excellent research library of nearly 2 million books and all the amenities of a large university.
