Position:
The Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics invites applications for a non-tenure track, 9-month Assistant Teaching Professor position in the Department of Physics, Astronomy, and Geosciences. The preferred begin date is January 2026.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in physics or a related field.
Responsibilities:
A teaching load of 24 contact hours of physics lectures and/or labs per academic year is required. The successful candidate will provide classroom instruction, prepare for courses, continuously improve subject matter competence, create teaching and learning materials, create new courses as needed, and advise students in their academic progress. Teaching areas will include all areas of physics, primarily at the introductory level. Additional responsibilities include serving on committees at the department, FCSM, and/or University levels. The position will also provide opportunities to engage in research and publishing.

Salary and Benefits:
Targeted salary range: $59,000 - $61,000
