We are seeking a Finance Assistant to work in an interesting and varied role in the Income Office of the Finance Division here at the University of Oxford.
Location: Great Clarendon Street, Oxford with 50% of time spent in the office
Salary: £28,437 - £32,108 per annum

About the Role
The Income Office manages over £2.5bn of University income annually and supports departments with cash handling, banking, card schemes and income allocation. This role works within a small team to deliver accurate, customer-focused financial administration.
Key responsibilities include managing departmental cash and cheque banking, cash floats and cash advances; liaising with secure cash carriers; and ensuring reconciliations are completed in line with University policies. The post holder will administer the University’s Barclaycard and Pre-paid card schemes, including processing applications, monitoring usage, resolving queries and checking reconciliations.
You will also support accurate income allocation within the Oracle finance system, investigate unidentified receipts, and respond to departmental and customer queries. Maintaining strong financial controls, daily reconciliations, and compliance with Anti-Money Laundering regulations is essential.
This role is hybrid but has a minimum requirement of 50% of the week in the office including cash collection/delivery days.

Desirable selection criteria
- Experience in the use of Oracle Financials;
- Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering Regulations
