First-Year Transition Senior Specialist
As part of the Advancing Community Connections and Empowering Student Success (ACCESS) Office, the First-Year Transition Senior Specialist leads programs and services that strengthen academic readiness, foster personal growth, and support the transition of first-year undergraduate students into the Fisher College of Business. Reporting to the associate dean for access and success, this position develops, implements, and manages programming such as summer bridge initiatives, orientation support, academic enrichment, and community-building activities with a high level of autonomy. Responsibilities include managing program budgets, tracking student retention and success, and teaching seminar courses. This role builds and maintains supportive professional relationships, collaborates with campus and community partners, and works closely with colleagues in the Office of ACCESS as well as with Undergraduate Programs staff and academic advisors. This position develops, manages and coordinates student-centered programming and opportunities that foster a connected and supportive. This role represents the Office of ACCESS as requested and serves on college committees as assigned, as well as works directly with students on a daily basis to foster connection and engagement.
May be required to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Required Experience
Bachelors degree and at least 4 years experience planning and implementing student academic programs and/or events. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Demonstrated public speaking skills. Ability to work with faculty, staff, students, and external organizations. Ability to manage multiple assignments with varying priorities and competing deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Experience
Masters degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in academic environment. Experience with computer productivity software, internet and University Student Information System (SIS), resources and curriculum; Knowledge of college student development. Knowledge of university procedures.
The target hiring range for this job profile is $51,500 - $67,250. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
