The Fixed Assets Administrator is responsible for the accounting operations of fixed assets of the University while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of Banner Finance ledgers, Banner Fixed Asset module, and web-based systems and interfaces. This position ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies; performs monthly reconciliations and yearend financial reporting; specialized campus training; and delivers a high level of customer service.

The Fixed Assets Administrator works closely with the General Accounting Department, Facilities, Purchasing Services, and Surplus Property to ensure complete and accurate recording of University assets for financial statement purposes. This position works directly with campus custodians of University assets, serving as a resource to ensure proper accounting during procurement and reviewing annual inventories submitted by these departments.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Associate's degree in business or other discipline related to area of work with an emphasis in accounting course work and three or more years of professional accounting experience or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in fixed assets.
  • Experience in a university environment.
  • Experience in governmental fund accounting.
  • Experience with Banner Systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work.
  • Proficient skill with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to perform analyses of financial data and processes.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge and application of accounting theories and principles.
