Salary Range: Up to $69,625 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary
The Fleet Manager manages the operation and administration of the State Vehicle Fleet Management Plan and related UT San Antonio Fleet Management Program and related program elements for the entire University Fleet. The position is responsible for all phases of the University Fleet Management Program to include owned/rental/leased service fleet, while leading the vehicle maintenance operations, including preventive, corrective maintenance functions, administers the fleet purchase program, the Fuel Card system and develops and administers vehicle fleet management policies and procedures for all of UT San Antonio in compliance with state mandates.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversees the service, repair and maintenance of the fleet management program, including management of third party vendors.
- Administers and manages the Fuel Card system, which includes adding and deleting fuel cards; updating authorized users and auditing monthly fuel consumption.
- Oversees preventive maintenance schedules for all vehicles.
- Utilizes various data processing systems and programs to develop fleet management reports. Supervises the vehicle accident reporting process and identifies cost-to-repair damages.
- Ensures surplus vehicles are prepared and processed for disposal. Researches, bids, purchases, titles, and licenses all new purchases, leases, and rental vehicles.
- Develops and administers the vehicle driver training program, Motor Vehicle Record Check (MVR) program elements in collaboration with other departments.
- Trains, assigns and evaluates performance of automotive maintenance service staff.
- Manages inspections and registrations.
- Drafts policies for vehicle fleet operations.
- Complies with the Department of Energy Alternative Fuel Vehicle program requirements and provides all associated reports.
- Travels to training seminars and conferences to stay current on all state requirements and available methods of improving performance occasionally.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, Vocational Training or Apprenticeship in a related field.
- Seven (7) years of related work experience.
+ Additional education may substitute for experience on a one year for one year basis. - This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Five or more years in a management position responsible for a large vehicle fleet in excess of 100 vehicles in an institutional setting similar to UT San Antonio
- Certified Automotive Fleet Manager, ASE Certifications or other National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) Certification programs.
- Commercial Driver's License
- Experience with using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) in managing repair and maintenance work.

Working Conditions
- Office Environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. After hours and weekend work is required on an occasional basis. Occasional after hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.
Physical Demands
- Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary, if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasional.
This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
