About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our Legal, Risk & Compliance (LRC) team as a FOI Privacy and Information Manager. Reporting to the Director, Legal Compliance & Integrity, this role plays a pivotal part in safeguarding Swinburne’s commitment to accountability, integrity and good governance.
In this role, you’ll take the lead on coordinating and responding to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, while also driving strong information and privacy compliance practices across the University. You’ll work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels—providing expert advice, guidance and practical support to ensure the University meets its legislative obligations and embeds good practice in everyday operations.
Working within a supportive, high-performing team, you’ll engage with both internal and external partners, influence decision-making, and help strengthen Swinburne’s culture of integrity and transparency. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is detail-focused, solution-oriented, and passionate about regulatory compliance and public accountability.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated experience at another Australian university or from the public sector that includes strong experience in FOI and privacy or similar roles.
- A deep and demonstrated understanding of higher education compliance obligations or within the public sector.

A degree in business, law or similar equivalent
