Job Description
Job Summary:
Full-Time Faculty deliver engaging coursework, guide student progress, and contribute to program and curriculum development. Faculty are active participants in departmental initiatives, institutional service, and ongoing professional development. A strong emphasis is placed on academic integrity, inclusive teaching practices, and preparing students for meaningful, responsible careers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Fulfill the instructional responsibilities of planning for course activities, appropriate teaching methods, and assessment of student work.
- Connect class presentations and activities to course learning objectives.
- Encourage students' participation in the learning process through a variety of learning techniques and strategies.
- Be available to students for consultation and clarification regarding course subject matter.
- Provide feedback to students in a timely and meaningful manner.
- Evaluate student performance according to established University criteria.
- Submit classroom attendance records and grades according to the established schedule.
- Foster a respectful, empowering learning environment that contributes to a positive student experience.
- Proactively develop students to become responsible, ethical, self-directed professionals.
- Engage in and model scholarship in teaching and learning.
- Participate in and promote the University to professional communities in area(s) of expertise.
- Ensure that program curriculum aligns with the academic model and focuses on application and current practice.
- Assist in ensuring alignment of program accreditation standards.
- Participate in formal and informal academic and institutional governance by serving on councils and committees.
- Teach a specified number of courses per year within compensation, as determined by the department and program. Out-of-compensation teaching assignments must be approved before the start of each term.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

- Master's degree required. A doctoral degree may be required based on program accreditation standards.
- Professional licensing may be required depending on program accreditation standards.
- 2 - 4 years of experience teaching, preferably both in-class and online delivery modes.
- Ability to address student academic-related issues and concerns in support of retention and student success.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to relate to and communicate with diverse students, faculty, staff, and external communities.
- Ability to present a professional image on behalf of the academic school and CityU.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management systems required.

Salary information:
$90,000 - $95,000/year DOE
