Full-time, Tenure-Track Librarian Positions in Health Sciences

We invite applications for two full-time, tenure-track librarian positions with the University Library. These positions include a research component and are in scope of the University of Saskatchewan Faculty Association. We are seeking dynamic, innovative, and flexible individuals to provide liaison services to colleges and departments in the health sciences, work collaboratively throughout the library, and contribute to library-wide projects and priorities.

One position will provide comprehensive liaison services to the College of Nursing and the Master of Physician Assistant Studies program. The other position will provide comprehensive liaison services to the School of Rehabilitation Science (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology).

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality liaison services that support faculty teaching and research, and student learning and success, including:
    • Designing and delivering information literacy instruction, both in person and online
    • Working with the other health sciences librarians to develop high-quality collections of electronic resources
    • Providing information services, including research consultations
  • Building collaborative relationships with stakeholder groups to advance learning and research
  • Engaging in research and scholarly activity leading to the development of a formal program of research and contributing to the scholarly conversation via peer-reviewed publications and other outlets
  • Working as a member of one of the library’s four divisions (Learning and Curriculum Support Division, Research Support Services Division, Collections and Discovery Division, and University Archives and Special Collections Division) to advance our Library Strategic Framework.

Research and scholarly work, as defined in the University Library Standards for Promotion and Tenure, is a requirement for these positions. Examples of University Library faculty members’ scholarly work can be found in HARVEST. Faculty members are expected to participate in collegial activities and are encouraged to engage with academic or professional organizations.

Qualifications
An ALA-accredited Master of Library and Information Science degree or international equivalent is required for this appointment. Candidates nearing completion of their degree are also encouraged to apply. Experience in the health sciences is an asset, but not necessary.

The Search Committee welcomes applications from candidates who demonstrate knowledge and experience in some or all of the areas listed below.

  • Ability to develop and sustain effective and collaborative professional working relationships and partnerships
  • Experience providing effective teaching in both group and individual settings
  • Knowledge of/experience with synthesis reviews (e.g., systematic reviews, scoping reviews)
  • Ability to provide professional, collaborative, user-centred service
  • Willingness to take initiative and be a self-starter
  • Flexibility, engagement, and creativity/innovation
  • Awareness of current and emerging trends in librarianship

Salary, Benefits, and Application Information
Salary information for this position for the 2026-2027 academic year is as follows: Assistant Librarian: $95,187 to $113,527; Associate Librarian: $113,527 to $135,535; Librarian: $135,535 to 164,879.
