The University of New England College of Dental Medicine (UNE CDM) invites applications for Group Practice Leader in the Department of Clinical Comprehensive Care. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) 12-month non-tenure clinical track faculty appointment at the Assistant Clinical Professor, Associate Clinical Professor, or Clinical Professor rank with an administrative appointment as a Group Practice Leader.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for the predoctoral group practice clinics
- Serve as a role model and leader in the CDM community
- Ensure the safe and effective delivery of evidence-based patient care
- Supervise, educate, and mentor students
- Continually monitor student professionalism, patient management, core experiences, completion of clinical skills assessments, and readiness for externship rotations
- Work with Patient Care Coordinators to ensure timeliness of care for patients within the group practice
- Assign patients to predoctoral students to ensure a well-rounded experience within the Oral Health Center
- Guide students in the development of evidence-based treatment plans
- Oversee student progress and progression toward on-time graduation
- Collaborate with the Department Chair on continuous quality improvement in the Oral Health Center
- Monitor patient care outcomes within the group practice
- Co-direct Patient Care courses for second-, third- and fourth-year students
- Contribute to calibration of faculty teaching in the predoctoral group practices
- Assist with the coordination of licensure examination efforts
- Participate in service to the college and university
- Lead small group seminars for third- and fourth-year students
- Conduct summative and formative student assessment
- Provide evidence-based didactic and clinical education
- Provide advanced inter- and intra-professional curriculum initiatives
- Support and advance the mission of the College
- Participate in College activities and events
- Promote and foster an environment of community and belonging
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must possess a D.D.S./D.M.D. degree, or international equivalent and have successfully completed the NBDE Parts I & II or the INBDE and a regional licensure examination (e.g. ADEX). By the position start date, the candidate must have active Maine Board of Dental Practice licensure (full/faculty).
