LOCATION: Devils Lake, ND

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: This is a full-time, 10-month, benefited position.

BACKGROUND CHECK: LRSC does require a successful background check for the selected candidate prior to beginning employment.

JOB SUMMARY: The Women’s Hockey Head Coach is responsible for leading and developing a competitive and student-centered women’s hockey program that supports academic success, personal growth, and athletic achievement of student-athletes. This position provides leadership in all aspects of the hockey program, including recruitment, coaching, training, and compliance with institutional, conference, and governing body rules.

This position is a combined appointment and will be paired with additional campus responsibilities based on institutional needs and the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Secondary duties may include, but are not limited to, student recruitment, fundraising and advancement activities, faculty teaching, athletic administration, program coordination, or other assigned duties that support the mission of the College.

The Head Coach works collaboratively with faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners to promote a positive and inclusive athletic culture, strengthen campus engagement, and contribute to the overall success of the College and its athletic department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: An earned postsecondary credential is preferred; however, any combination of relevant education and coaching experience will be considered. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills, effective interpersonal and communication abilities, and the ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple responsibilities. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching or coaching experience in a community college setting and/or direct experience coaching hockey.

SALARY: $40,000 - $50,000, depending on education and experience.
