Department: Cellular and Genetic Medicine
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned research work as well as routine tasks in a research environment
- Assist in performing assigned laboratory tasks without constant supervision
- Assist staff in laboratory work
- Clean and stock supplies to laboratories, clean glassware, maintain inventory, perform assays, set up and conduct experiments
- Must be able to organize work, collect and analyze data, make calculations, prepare reports, keep records, and make independent decisions
- Ability to complete assigned special projects with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Higher education degree in one of the relevant scientific fields such as Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology, etc. Relevant coursework as well as knowledge of lab equipment and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a hourly at VCU
Salary Range: $17-$18
FLSA Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Hours per Week: 29
ORP Eligible: No
Flexible Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite
