HR Assistant

As HR Assistant for the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVMed), you will play a key role in administering the Division’s HR operations. As a core member of our friendly team of HR professionals, you will be responsible for supporting the effective delivery of HR services within one of the University of Oxford’s leading research divisions.

In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of people at all levels, both within the department and beyond, including academic and research staff, students, staff within the University offices, and hospital staff. As an important member of our HR team, your responsibilities will include acting as the first point of contact for routine HR queries from employees, managers, and external contacts. You will also support the HR Officer with recruitment administration, including editing job descriptions, placing adverts, and preparing shortlisting packs.

About you

You will be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), and possess the ability to clearly and accurately communicate HR processes verbally and in writing. Experience of relevant administrative work, alongside awareness of immigration and right to work procedures, and the capacity to convey discretion when dealing with confidential information are also essential. Experience of working with an electronic HR system and experience of academic/general administration within a Higher Education or related environment will be an advantage.
