Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications: HR experience, preferably in higher education; Demonstrated experience managing HR operations across multiple employment types (faculty, staff, student workers, etc.); Proven track record in compensation analysis and classification systems; Experience with HRIS platforms, especially OneUSG Connect, UGA Financials, and Data Warehouse
Position Summary: The Office of Research is seeking a detail oriented and collaborative individual for the position of Human Resources Manager. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for collaborating with unit business leaders and HR colleagues to effectively address and efficiently provide a range of human resource stakeholders. This role will contribute to talent acquisition efforts, maintain accurate records, and provide guidance on routine classification, compensation, and employee relations matters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to interpret and apply HR policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies: Manage competing priorities and work with a sense of urgency, establish priorities and meet deadlines; Work independently and ensure deliverables are completed on time; Professional and personable with top notch customer service skills; Quickly adapt to changing policies, laws, regulation, and general business environment; Proactive approach to project management; Anticipate departmental needs and take action as necessary to mitigate risk; Demonstrate attention to detail in composing and proofing materials; Demonstrate discretion in handling sensitive and confidential situations and documents; Demonstrate initiative to acquire new skills and assist others as part of a team environment; Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Human Resource Operations: Collaborate with department leaders to develop and revise job descriptions for all employment types; Initiate and manage employment actions; Review and approve OneUSG Connect transactions. (30%)
- Compensation & Classification: Conduct compensation analyses; Provide classification guidance; Maintain records and perform data audits. (15%)
- Onboarding and Offboarding: Greet new employees; Assist with system access; Manage offboarding processes. (10%)
- Employee Relations & Policy Guidance: Provide coaching on employee relations; Collaborate on workplace concerns; Stay current on policies. (20%)
- Records and Reporting: Maintain personnel files; Generate reports; Audit payroll reports. (15%)
- Process Improvement and Communication: Assist in improving HR processes; Write and distribute communications. (10%)
