Summary:

The Humanities Truck Fellow supports mobile, community-based public humanities programming and research. Fellows assist with planning and facilitating events that bring humanities scholarship into conversation with local communities. This role provides hands-on experience in public humanities practice, event facilitation, and community-engaged scholarship.

Essential Functions:

• Support planning and delivery of Humanities Truck events.
• Assist with event set-up, breakdown, and engaging with participants.
• Assist with research related to current projects.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Part-time.
• 10 - 20 hours per week.

Salary Range:

$17.95 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

• Current undergraduate or graduate student at American University.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Interest in public humanities, public history, museums, or community engagement.
• Ability to work collaboratively and engage diverse audiences.
• Willingness to work outdoors and assist with transporting equipment.
