Instructional Lab Tech I - Veterinary Technology (Temporary Position)
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Under the direction of a Dean or assigned supervisor; oversee students' learning and practicing skills in veterinary nursing and animal care and handling in an instructional live laboratory; tutor, remediate and provide instructional assistance to students; provide assistance to faculty, and perform technical work to maintain the Veterinary Technology program.
Representative Duties
- Oversee and provide instructional assistance to students in the nursing, care, and handling of animals in the Veterinary Technology program.
- Assist faculty in demonstrating and teaching veterinary technology nursing skills in the classroom and laboratory setting.
- Assist faculty with student learning outcomes; tutor and remediate students, provide skills practice and enhancement of students' classroom experience.
- Assist in the administration and scoring of test and class assignments; evaluate, track, document, and report student progress.
- Prepare, issue and monitor materials, tools and equipment for student use.
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment, tools, supplies and other teaching aids for demonstrations, practical examinations and student assignments.
- Maintain the lab, stock rooms, and other assigned areas in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
- Maintain inventory of training and veterinary supplies and equipment; order, receive and arrange for proper storage and handling of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist in the coordination of the overall maintenance and repair of instructional equipment.
- Screen, select, train and provide work direction for student workers.
