Position Summary

  • The selected individual is required to teach in person, on multiple days, at our main campuses, learning or satellite centers during the morning, afternoon and evening.
  • Develop course syllabi and materials.
  • Evaluate mastery of student, program, and institutional learning outcomes. Participate in the development of formative and summative assessments and assessment instruments.
  • Maintain office hours to provide student advisement, participate in recruitment activities, and program/curriculum development.
  • Participate in School, Department, and Program meetings and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by Chair for needs of the office, division, and institution.

Required Qualifications

  • A master's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Administration of Justice from an accredited college/university.
  • Five (5) years of full-time practitioner experience in the criminal justice profession.
  • Practitioner experience within the last eight (8) years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years' full-time teaching experience at the college level in the criminal justice discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing curriculum, assessment plans, formative and summative assessments, assessment instruments, and conducting analysis of course and program assessment.
  • Practitioner experience within the last five (5) years.

Candidates will be required to do a teaching demonstration.

Bargaining unit Faculty members hired are eligible for relocation expenses reimbursement in accordance with the College of Southern Nevada NFA Contract 2022-2025.

Starting Salary Information

Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, for an instructor with a Master's degree the salary range would be $58,046 to $74,304 annually. The entire salary range is up to $89,166 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years' experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for the initial salary placement purposes.
