Position Summary

The position of LADDER Family Center Teacher/Coordinator is a teaching/activity director position for up to 5 students diagnosed as Multiple Disability Support (MDS) or any severe developmental disabilities; to serve at Widener Memorial School.

Essential Duties

• Be available for families on an as needed basis via phone and online, including responding as soon as possible but no later than 24 hours to parent, student, teacher and administrative inquiries during the regular work week.
• Provide all direct services as needed to special needs students.
• Plan and implement socialization and scholastic enrichment activities for a variety of ages of students with challenging special education needs for up to 3 hours per evening during a weekly program over two university semesters.
• Following up on concerns with parents as noted on teacher monthly progress forms.
• Maintain office hours as indicated by the Associate Director of LADDER.
• Attend all in person meets as scheduled.
• Attend and provide professional development programs as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Special Education

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working at the Widener Memorial School

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours

Hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 3 pm to 5:30 pm
