The Office of Communications for Enrollment Management welcomes applications for the position of Integrated Content Specialist.
The Integrated Content Specialist is responsible for developing clear, consistent, and effective content to support undergraduate recruitment and enrollment communications. This position leads the creation and documentation of writing standards, messaging frameworks, and content efficiency tools, ensuring alignment with audience needs and strategic goals. As a champion for content innovation, the specialist will explore, pilot, and integrate AI-powered writing tools and systems to improve quality and efficiency across communications. The role collaborates closely with partners across Enrollment Management and serves as a resource for editorial guidance and modern content practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
Content Creation & Strategy Implementation
- Write, edit, and create content for a variety of formats, including video, web, email, print, and digital platforms
- Develop and maintain messaging frameworks, tone/voice guides, and editorial standards to ensure consistency across channels
- Build and apply content templates, reusable blocks, and naming conventions to support efficient communication workflows
- Work closely with other team members to bring messages to life through integrated visual and written storytelling
AI Integration & Content Efficiency
- Research, pilot, and implement AI-assisted writing tools to enhance drafting, editing, and optimization processes
- Develop teamwide best practices for ethical and effective AI use in content creation
- Integrate AI tools into shared content workflows and internal documentation, supporting scalability and efficiency
- Track and evaluate the performance and impact of content automation and smart systems
Partner Support & Internal Collaboration
- Act as a messaging and writing resource for Enrollment Management units and campus collaborators
- Support internal communications by developing templates, proofing materials, and aligning tone
- Participate in planning sessions, intake meetings, and campaign development as a content strategy lead
Professional Development & Knowledge Management
- Stay current on communication trends, digital engagement strategies, and content accessibility
- Build and maintain internal knowledge libraries and editorial training resources
- Mentor colleagues on messaging practices and tool use when applicable
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field
- One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area
- Demonstrated experience creating and/or writing content for targeted audiences, such as prospective students, academic communities, or other specialized groups
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, marketing, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in content development, writing/editing, communications strategy, or related work
- Experience managing content workflows, editorial standards, or messaging frameworks
- Experience writing for prospective student audiences or higher education communications
- Experience using or evaluating generative AI tools for content development
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written communication skills, with a strong eye for clarity, tone, and audience
- Familiarity with CRM systems like Slate
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive writing practices
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5004 - Marketing Associate position. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. The budgeted salary range for the position is $45,000-$47,500 annually. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
