Job Description
The Innovation Hub Director provides strategic, operational, and people-centered leadership for the university's centralized engine for innovation, institutional effectiveness, and strategic execution. The Director is responsible for launching, leading, and continuously evolving the Innovation Hub as a coordinated "team of teams" that advances institutional priorities through change leadership, system and process improvement, strategic technology enablement, professional training, product and service development, and project management.
Serving as a key institutional partner and integrator, the Director works across academic and administrative units to translate strategy into action - aligning people, systems, and processes to improve outcomes and strengthen organizational agility and resilience.
The Director reports directly to the Vice President for Finance and University Planning.
This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide vision, leadership, and operational oversight for the Innovation Hub, ensuring coordinated execution, measurable outcomes, and return on investment.
- Coordinate Hub outreach, communication, and marketing efforts.
- Exercise decision-making authority over the intake, prioritization, sequencing, and resourcing of Innovation Hub initiatives, in alignment with institutional priorities and available capacity.
- Champion change leadership and organizational development; lead the BENGAL Change Leadership team.
- Coordinate and implement system and process improvement efforts in collaboration with the System and Process Improvement Office.
- Collaborate on strategic technology and digital enablement in collaboration with the Strategic Technologies Office.
- Co-lead faculty and staff training initiatives in collaboration with Human Resources and Innovation Hub members.
- Support development of mission-aligned products, services, and revenue opportunities in collaboration with the Albion Institute.
- Lead the Strategic Planning, Initiatives, and Project Management Center. Support major institutional initiatives and project management including university-wide administrative and service unit strategic and operational planning and other institutional planning and effectiveness efforts.
- Ensure financial stewardship and measurable ROI.
- Lead and supervise direct employees of the Hub and student interns, including recruitment, hiring, direction, mentoring and development, and performance management.
- Provide functional leadership and establish shared standards and priorities for Hub-matrixed work teams through formal decision structures and collaborative governance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- At least five (5) years progressive leadership experience in higher education or complex organizations.

- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in system and process improvement, change leadership frameworks, organizational development and training, and strategic technology deployment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in public administration, higher education leadership, business, or related field.
- Experience with institutional effectiveness, accreditation processes, and statewide reporting.
- Proficiency with data and project platforms.
- Project Management (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, or change management certification.
Additional Information

Salary will be between $70,000 and $80,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
