Job Description

Manage, maintain, and enhance housing management systems to support daily operations and user functionality

  • Provide daily oversight of mission-critical systems that support departmental operations including but not limited to assignments and application processes, online portal configuration and maintenance, facilities tracking, and integrations with university-wide systems
  • Responsible for maintenance, modification of existing processes and improvement of housing management software and systems; ensure continuity of operations with management of system updates schedule; process enhancements to workflows through automations
  • Lead housing management system maintenance and troubleshooting when needed
  • Monitor system processes, providing quality assurance ensuring the platform meets organizational and operational needs.
  • Review business practices and processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead system testing and systematic review efforts, creating testing scripts, writing and conducting testing plans, as needed
  • Collaborate with teams to develop system formats that prioritize end-user experience, ensure seamless usability and functionality and technical efficiencies
  • Assist with access control operations including management user access, access levels, schedules, and credentialling within University access system
  • Serves as the primary liaison for department to stakeholders for housing management system integrations or support
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with departmental and University policies, guidelines, and other relevant regulations

Data governance, reporting, and strategic analytics

  • Manage user system access, roles, and security groups for housing management system
  • Establish and maintain data governance procedures to ensure security, accuracy, and integrity of information
  • Monitor system processes and data workflows to identify, log, and resolve errors, ensuring operational accuracy and continuity; identify, test, and resolve data inconsistencies, redundancies, and errors
  • Responsible for maintenance of configurations, APIs, and reporting to ensure continued integration with university systems.
  • Document business processes, testing scenarios/scripts, and procedures that support data workflows across departmental systems for processing, integration, and reporting.
  • Work closely with leadership and operational teams to understand needs and provide tailored support
  • Maintenance of tables, testing of updates and customizations, creation of system dashboards, and the development of ad hoc reports.
  • Understand and fulfill student data management requirements

Develop reports, handle special projects, tasks, and other duties as assigned

  • Serve on Division of Student Life or University of Florida committees as needed

Expected Salary

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience

Preferred

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or computer science preferred
  • Understanding of project coordination including mapping and process workflow
  • Understand database schemas and management
  • Experience with SQL (1-2 years)

SKILLS:

  • Solid skill set with process enhancements, quality assurance and testing
  • Demonstrated skills in project management
  • Experience in a data-driven environment and/or data-driven decision-making
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers and software applications (e.g. StarRez, Lenel, or Housing Management Systems)
  • Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills

ABILITIES:

  • Ability to analyze data and provide solutions to complex problems including hands-on experience working with technologies and using advanced problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to effectively work in collaborative and complex environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a multifaceted environment
