Junior Computational/Translational Science (Assistant Professor level) Department of Urology
The Department of Urology at Houston Methodist (HM) Academic Institute invites applications for a junior independent faculty position in computational biology, focusing on areas like spatial transcriptomics, 3D tissue architecture, cell-cell communication, with emphasis on characterizing the tumor microenvironment in urologic cancers. The successful candidate will have access to existing spatial transcriptomics infrastructures, as well as Houston Methodist Hospital’s extensive human tissue cohorts and data generation resources through highly collaborative clinical faculty. Ideal candidates will have expertise in computational modeling, machine learning, or algorithm development, with interests in epithelial cancer biology and a history of collaborative research with basic cancer biologists and physician-scientists. This position will involve close collaborations and integration into the Urology Translational Team and Neal Cancer Center with Dr. Keith S Chan (NCI Methodist TBEL U54 PI, CPRIT Established Scholar, Dr. Yinan Gong, and Dr. Fotis Nikolos with opportunities to participate in national consortiums and building new program projects. Generous recruitment package will be provided by the HMRI, with complementary opportunities to be nominated through the CPRIT First-Time Investigator mechanism. Highly qualified associate professors will also be considered.
