KIND Clinical Nurse Coordinator
Job Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a KIND (Kids' Interdisciplinary Neurovascular Disease) Clinical Nurse Coordinator. This position is responsible for assisting with the management of the patient care department by coordinating staff development/education, quality improvement activities, scheduling staff hours, and performing other duties to facilitate nursing care for patients. This position works directly with Neurology and Neurosurgery providers to help coordinate care for patients.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the management of the department which involves input in performance evaluations, interviewing, hiring, counseling employees and other duties as assigned.
- Assists with the training and QI of the department including onboarding, precepting and staff development for comprehensive epilepsy nurses.
- Assists with the management and care of stroke patients.
- Triages emergent needs, manages ongoing orders, coordinates insurance authorization and information and helps manage ongoing patient needs.
- Responsible for the coordination of quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinates staff education and development.
- Responsible for the scheduling of KIND clinic nurse staff.
- Responsible for organizing and efficiently managing clinical operations for multidisciplinary clinics.
- Responsible for organizing, executing, and leading all KIND clinic and stroke patient care conferences.
- Responsible for tracking all patients' care plan.
Minimum Qualifications
Required: Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential; Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah; Two years general nursing experience.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing; One year of directly related experience in an area of specialty; Department preference for one year of directly related experience in Pediatric stroke.
